2010 Elections Scare Some

By Mike Hermes, Editor

With Hallows Eve behind us, it’s easy to think we are safe from zombies and clowns for a while. However, for many people, we are now entering the scariest time of all – a time that sends chills down the spine of even the bravest of souls – that’s right, it’s political campaign season.

In some ways, campaigning for political office is a lot like Halloween; a bunch of people running around, pretending to be different and asking for stuff.

Seriously though, we here at the Little Axe Ledger want to try and make this coming election year slightly less frightening for our readers. Therefore we will be reporting on candidates for political offices that represent Little Axe residents.

We have also prepared a one-stop place for your general election information:

Little Axe 2010 Election Guide
Here you will find a list of candidates for offices representing Little Axe, along with links to campaign websites, and information on election topics such as election dates, finding your legislators, registering to vote, campaign finance reports, state spending, and our state constitution. This page will be constantly updated throughout the year.

The Little Axe Ledger accepts no campaign advertising and will only endorse any candidate in articles marked as editorial. We welcome submissions from candidates seeking to represent Little Axe regarding issues that impact residents. We also welcome submissions from voters that are civil and without slander.

Good luck to all of us and may the best candidates win.
