LA Football Gets Two Wins in One Day

Tonight is the final game of the regular season for the Little Axe Indians and Norman Transcript sports writer Jeff Johncox already published the end of season tally for the much improved varsity team in this morning’s edition:

Tonight’s game against hapless SeeWorth is just a formality, and it looks like Little Axe will finish the regular season 8-2, 6-1 in District 2A-2.

Little Axe’s season record had been 6-3, 4-2 District up until yesterday, when the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) ruled that Jones played an ineligible player, quarterback Daxx Garman. Jones beat Little Axe Oct.9, with Garman at the helm, 35-13.

The Indians were already headed to the playoffs, but now should be even playing one in Little Axe. A school first for both.

We too believe in the Indians, but will wait until after tonight’s game to announce the final team standings for the season.
