Thunderbird Lake Creature Surfaces
The stories of a monster roaming the depths of Lake Thunderbird have been legend in these parts for hundreds of years. It is said that early natives named the elusive creature ‘Amphornigua’, meaning big-horned amphibian. The few people who actually saw Amphornigua, and lived to tell about it, were believed to be possessed by demons and ostracized by the community. This response so intimidated the Little Axe townsfolk that no mention of the creature has been made since 1965, and the name ‘Amphornigua’ effectively vanquished from recorded history. That is, up until today.
The Little Axe Ledger has obtained photos of an unidentified, large animal-like creature swimming across Lake Thunderbird. The photos were taken this morning by a Little Axe resident who wishes to remain anonymous, for obvious reasons. Our staff expert has verified the authenticity of the photographs and painstakingly enhanced the images to reveal a shocking image of Lake Thunderbird’s ‘Amphornigua’, alive and well.

The water disturbance in the last two images indicate an approximate body length of a whitetail deer. But of course, why would a whitetail deer be swimming in the middle of the lake?
