Friends of T-bird Elections
Greetings New and Old, Past and Present, Current and Not-So-Current Members and Friends of Lake Thunderbird State Park,

With the end of the year upon us, I hope that everyone has a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. This also means the end of another term for officers of Friends of Lake Thunderbird State Park and it is time for nominations and elections. It may have seemed to you like this last year went by quicker than normal. In fact, you would be correct. With last year’s elections being held in April instead of January, our calendar year was only 8 months long. This year, we will stay on schedule as per our by-laws and officers will begin their term in January for a full year.
Considering our shortened year, we still had a good year with memberships back on the rise and organizationally we started to work collectively as a group rather than a bunch of individuals. Visibility of the organization was increased with a membership drive that distributed 500 flyers at the lake and a membership table at our annual Halloween event. I strongly believe that visibility is the key to survival of any organization that relies on the public for support!
In accordance with our by-laws, we will be accepting nominations for officers until December 31st. Our current slate of officers are as follows:
President: Steven Klapp
1st Vice President: Robin Teeter
2nd Vice President:
Treasurer: Alynn Stewart
Secretary: Pat Folley
Please email your nominations to Alynn Stewart at alynn_stewart(at)hotmail(dot)com along with a copy to the person(s) that you are nominating for office. If you do not know their email address, I would be happy to provide it to you upon request. Upon acceptance of all nominations by the nominees, a list of nominees will be emailed and official ballots will be mailed out by USPS, after the first of the year, to be returned by USPS prior to or hand carried to the meeting on January 19th, 2010. Only those ballots of current paid members or those that are accompanied with annual dues will be counted. Should you have any other questions, please feel free to call me at 307-0569.
I would like to close with a sincere thank you to all that have supported the organization this last year and for the hard work by our officers. Without your support and hard work, we could not exist. It has been a pleasure to serve you and our community.
Sincerely,
Steven P. Klapp
President
Friends of Lake Thunderbird State Park, Inc.
