October Treats, Tricks and Trees at Thunderbird
Saturday, October 2nd
9:00 am – Bird Walk – Join us for an easy walk around the Nature Center area to see what birds we can find.
11:00 am – Fall Bookmarks. Decorate your own one-of-a-kind bookmark. Ages 3 and up. 50¢ fee.
1:00 pm – Trees Through the Year. Learn about seasonal changes in the lives of trees, especially in Fall. Ages 4 and up.
2:00 pm – Tree Walk. What kinds of trees grow around the Nature Center? Join us on a walk around the area to see what we can find. All Ages.
3:00 pm – Clay Leaf Prints. Make a print of a real leaf in self-hardening clay. Ages 4 and up. $1.00 fee. Please call for reservation.
Saturday, October 16th
10:00 to 12:00 am – Halloween Crafts I. Fun and easy craft projects, some using natural objects. Age 3 and up. $1.00 fee.
Saturday, October 23rd
2:00 am to 4:00 pm – Halloween Crafts II. Fun and easy craft projects (different ones from the first class), some using natural objects. Age 3 and up. $1.00 fee.
Thursday, October 28th
6:00 to 7:30 pm – Trick or Treat the Lake. Free! Put on your costume and join in the fun in a safe outdoor environment. Decorated tables with treats, games, and prizes; face painting, a fire truck and ambulance to explore, and fingerprinting by the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Dept. Ages 12 and under. Crow’s Corral, across from the Thunderbird Riding Stables. in the Clear Bay Area of the park.
Saturday, October 30th
10:00 am – Bats Around Us. What better time to learn about bats than Halloween? A slide show for all ages featuring interesting facts and outstanding photography
11:00 am – Halloween Bookmarks. Decorate your own one-of-a-kind bookmark. Ages 3 and up. 50¢ fee.
1:00 to 4:00 pm — Halloween Crafts Encore. If you missed the I and/or II classes, a few of the simpler projects will be available between these times. Because of limited staffing, children must be accompanied by an adult who is willing to help out. $1.00 fee.
