Little Axe Public Schools is seeking to pass a $7.575 million school bond issue for the purpose of constructing and equipping a new middle school. Plans are to include twenty-two classrooms, a cafeteria, computer labs, a library and science labs. The new campus would be located between the high school and Hwy 9. Current middle school buildings date back to the 1960′s.

Acting Superintendent Tony Smith assures voters there would be no tax increase if the bond passes. “It would be a multi-year bond that won’t raise taxing limits.”

The bond election is September 13.
