Another Championship for Lady Indians

By Ledger Staff

For the second year in a row, Little Axe claimed the Girls Fastpitch Softball State title with a 5-3 win over the Morris Eagles Tuesday night in Oklahoma City. The Class 3A final game had been delayed three days because of rain.

The Indians quickly took a three run lead, but Little Axe pitcher Andee Frazier faltered in the 3rd inning, walking three batters and giving up three hits, allowing Morris to tie the game. However, Andee then came to bat in the 6th inning and hit a home run with one person on base, resulting in the game winning lead.

Little Axe qualified for the title game by first beating Davis 4-2, then squeaking by Washington 2-1 in 11 innings. (Washington game highlight on YouTube)
